Kris Aquino Remains a Kapamilya, Renews Contract with ABS-CBN

Posted on January 7, 2014 | 12:53 PM

Queen of all media Kris Aquino will stay as a Kapamilya as she has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN, her home network for 18 years. This ended speculations that she will transfer to GMA-7 or TV-5, as what earlier reported (read here).

Kris Aquino Remains a Kapamilya, Renews Contract with ABS-CBN

On Monday, Kris Aquino announced her decision via her official Instagram account posting a photo of the ABS-CBN logo with a long caption setting the record straight that she will remain a Kapamilya.

"I have been w/ ABSCBN for 18 years & like any other family we've had our ups & downs and sometimes unavoidable "tampuhan"- but we remain FAMILY... My manager Deo Edrinal continued talks w/ our ABS bosses during the Christmas break & it is w/ much joy that I share w/ you that we have RENEWED my ABSCBN contract. I am grateful to my ABS CBN bosses, Sir Gabby, Ma’am Charo, and tita Cory for the trust, value & importance they have given me," Kris said.

Kris also debunked reports that she had talks with GMA network executives. However, she admitted that she had a meeting with TV-5 big boss Manny V. Pangilinan.

"May I set the record straight? 1) I never met w/ any GMA officials but I am grateful to them for the generous coverage they gave My Little Bossings, primarily because of their longstanding partnership w/ Vic Sotto & the Eat Bulaga family. 2) I had met w/ MVP (Manny Pangilinan) in October & again Dec 23 of 2013. 3)," Kris posted.

On the rest of the Instagram caption, Kris thanked the people who became instruments to her success, as well as all the Kapamilya viewers who supported her all the way.

"To all the KAPAMILYA viewers, thank you for watching me, enjoying me & making me part of your daily viewing. Because of your support I get to continue a job I love & I am also able to provide well for Kuya & Bimb... From my heart, MARAMING SALAMAT KAPAMILYA!!!"

Kris Aquino to Transfer to GMA Network this 2014

Posted on December 31, 2013 | 10:29 AM

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino is 90% sure that she will transfer to rival network GMA-7 in 2014, a source told The Philippine Star columnist Salve Asis.

Kris Aquino to Transfer to GMA-7 this 2014?

The source said that Kris will be a Kapuso very soon and that "no amount of pressure from anybody" can hinder her decision to switch networks. The source added that Kris can't say no to the "professional and financial side" of the offer, the reason she has made up her mind to do network transfer.

According to reports, Kris has already talked with GMA Network's majority share owner Atty. Felipe Gozon, and Smart's Manny V. Pangilinan, who is currently negotiating to buy the share of the former. Rumor has it that when the buy-out prosper, MVP will make Kris the president of the network.

Sources also said that there's a high possibility that Kris Aquino will do the TV adaptation of the box office movie My Little Bossings in the Kapuso network, of course with Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon.

Kris Aquino's contract with ABS-CBN expired last October and currently Kris is on a vacation in London with sons Josh and Bimby. According to Kris, leaving the country is also her way of evading intrigues.

"Para iwas intriga na rin muna kasi napapabalita 'yung pagre-renew [ng contract]. Magmumuni-muni po at aalis," she told ABS-CBN News.

It can be recalled that Kris Aquino was among the original hosts of the '90s Kapuso showbiz-oriented talk show Startalk along with Boy Abunda. The two later transferred to ABS-CBN and hosted The Buzz.

Judy Ann Santos to Transfer Network When Soap Ends? Will it be TV-5 or GMA-7?

Posted on August 7, 2013 | 12:03 PM

Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera Judy Ann Santos is reportedly considering a network switch after the end of her teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala on ABS-CBN.

Judy Ann Santos to Transfer Network?

According to reports, Judy Ann Santos is now weighing options whether to transfer or not. Judy Ann's manager, Alfie Lorenzo said that they will be attending a dinner-meeting with TV-5 boss Manny V. Pangilinan. There are also talks that Juday and Tito Alfie will also meet with GMA-7 executives.

Judy Ann Santos' contract with ABS-CBN expired last July and the queen is now free to grab any offer from rival networks while ABS-CBN, her home network for two decades, is still drafting a new contract for her to consider.

Rumor has it that Judy Ann Santos' camp felt bad when the network decided to move her comeback teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala to a later timeslot to give way to Muling Buksan Ang Puso, when it was doing better in TV ratings. This time, the network allegedly wanted to move the show's timeslot again to accommodate Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's teleserye Got to Believe.

Judy Ann allegedly got offended after executives told her the move and in disappointment, Judy Ann reportedly decided to just end her teleserye the soonest instead of being placed at a later timeslot (fourth in primetime after evening newscast) where there is very limited viewership.

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala premiered last June 17 and there are reports that it will air its finale on August 23, two months after it first aired on TV.

Many netizens feel with Juday because despite being bestowed the title of 'Teleserye Queen,' her series were always cut short and barely last long, with follow up teleserye happening after about 2 years.

Will Juday finally end her loyalty to ABS-CBN and leave the network? If she decides to do so, where will we see Judy Ann next—TV-5 or GMA-7?
