Seduction Flops at the Box Office; Gross only P3.67 Million in 5 Days

Regal Films' Seduction starring Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati and Solenn Heussaff had grossed only P3.67 million on its five-day run in more or less 90 theaters nationwide according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo (BOM).


The erotic thriller, which the first Filipino film to premiere this year, failed to create interest in moviegoers despite being helmed by no less than Peque Gallaga and the hype of Richard's brave portrayal in the film.

Meanwhile, Jackie Chan's last action movie Chines Zodiac which is distributed by Star Cinema topped  local box office for the period of January 30 to February 3. Here are the top movies in the Philippines for the said period according to BOM.

Jackie Chan's Last Action Film "Chinese Zodiac" Now Showing in Over 120 Cinemas Nationwide

More than 120 cinemas nationwide are all set today (January 30) for the highly anticipated Philippine release of “Chinese Zodiac,” the international box-office hit movie of Asian action superstar Jackie Chan.

According to Jackie, he prepared long enough for “Chinese Zodiac” and he guaranteed that the fans will enjoy the film’s unique mix of action and comedy. “I just love doiing the movie. I’ve been preparing this for almost seven years. And I spent one and a half years to travel in eight countries and five continents just to make it,” said Jackie, who was the film’s lead star, writer, producer and director.

Known for performing the dangerous stunts in his movies, the the 58-year-old Asian superstar shared that it was his decision to make “Chinese Zodiac” his last action movie. “I want to let the audience know that this is my last big action movie. I don’t like to die on the set. I want to continue filming,” said Jackie. “Maybe on my next movie, I don’t have to roll over, jump over the building, or jump off the car. I want to try drama or be casted in a love story”

From by Star Cinema, “Chinese Zodiac” tells the story of an adventurer and treasure hunter named JC (Jackie) who travels the world to search for and retrieve all the stolen bronze heads of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

“Chinese Zodiac” also stars Oliver Platt, Laura Weissbecker, Liao Fan, Yao Xing Tong, Zhang Lan Xin, and Korean heartthrob Kwon Sang-woo.

Jackie Chan's 'Chines Zodiac' Opens in PH Cinemas January 30 Ahead of US Release

Star Cinema will start the new year with a huge milestone as it distributes for the very first time a foreign movie titled “Chinese Zodiac” starred, produced, written and directed by no less than Asian superstar Jackie Chan. “Chinese Zodiac” is set to hit Philippine cinemas on January 30, 2013 (Wednesday).

Reported to be Chan’s last major action movie (although the actor clarified that he will still be working on films), “Chinese Zodiac” has recently made headlines being the highest grossing film ever in China, earning $34.6M in just four days. And come January next year, through the efforts of Star Cinema, Filipino moviegoers will get to see “Chinese Zodiac” ahead of the film’s US release which is slated on the first or second quarter of 2013.

“Chinese Zodiac” is a highly budgeted action-comedy-adventure masterpiece shot in eight countries. It tells the story of an adventurer and treasure hunter named JC (Chan) who travels the world to search for and retrieve all the stolen bronze heads of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
