Andi Eigenmann, who is currently part of another Pinoy komiks TV adaptation (Galema: Anak ni Zuma shown on ABS-CBN's afternoon block), will be playing the role of Betty in Dyesebel.

Betty is the rival of Dyesebel to Fredo, who will be played by Gerald Anderson. In the story of Dyesebel, Betty is known to be Fredo's ex-girlfriend who will kidnap the mermaid for display at a circus. The said role was portrayed in movies under several names while it was reprised by Bianca King in the 2008 TV adaptation of GMA-7.

Andi will be part of a big cast which also includes Sam Milby, Eula Valdes, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gabby Concepcion, Neil Coleta, Bangs Garcia, David Chua, Young JV, Ogie Diaz, and Ms. Ai Ai Delas Alas.

Two weeks ago, Dreamscape Entertainment, producer of the show also introduced Dawn Zulueta (read story here) as one of the members of the cast. Dawn will be playing the role of Dyesebel's mother.

With Andi's inclusion in the cast of Dyesebel, the on-screen rivalry between her and Anne will come back to life. It can be recalled that Andi also played as the 'other woman' in a relationship involving Anne in the 2012 movie A Secret Affair.

Kim Chiu is Dyesebel in ABS-CBN Remake?

Posted on December 30, 2013 | 12:48 PM

Actress Kim Chiu is said to be the one chosen to play the role of the love-lorn mermaid Dyesebel on ABS-CBN. According to a report by Salve Asis on The Philippine Star, Kim Chiu bagged the most-coveted role of Dyesebel.

Kim Chiu as Dyesebel and Xian Lim as Fredo

"Si Kim Chiu pala ang final choice para maging Dyesebel ng ABS-CBN. Kasalukuyan na raw nagti-training si Kim at any moment ay magti-taping sila," Asis wrote on her column published Monday.

Early this year, ABS-CBN has finalized the deal on the network's acquisition of 13 titles or characters created by Mars Ravelo, including the superheroine Darna, the everyman-superhero character Captain Barbell and the love-lorn mermaid Dyesebel. This sparked the guessing game on the lucky (and deserving) actors who get to portray them.

The network started to air teasers for Dyesebel last month which heightened the anticipation of the fans. Early reports had Anne Curtis, KC Concepcion, Angel Locsin, Erich Gonzales, Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador and Kim Chiu in the list of actresses being considered for the role.

Although there's no official confirmation from the network yet, Kim Chiu's fans are now jumping for joy while others said that the role doesn't fit Kim and insisted their favorites for Dyesebel, including Anne Curtis and Jessy Mendiola. The latter was recently rumored to have bagged the role of Dyesebel and if we are to take hints from posts in social media, Jessy might have been the chosen one, trying new hair extensions that could possibly be for her mermaid role.

If Kim Chiu is indeed Dyesebel, it's a no brainer that Xian Lim will be her lover Fredo. The two are currently busy promoting their second movie together, Bride for Rent.

Whether it's Kim Chiu or Jessy Mendiola, great interest has now been generated for Dyesebel and the only thing we could do is wait for the official announcement very soon.

Dyesebel will start taping in January and the show is expected to air first quarter of 2014. This is another Dreamscape Entertainment production and will be directed by Don Cuaresma and Francis Xavier Pasion.

'Be Careful with My Heart' Movie, Scrapped

Posted on December 8, 2013 | 10:31 AM

The movie version of hit daytime teleserye Be Careful with My Heart will no longer push through according to one of the lead actors Richard Yap aka Ser Chief.

Maya and Ricky of Be Careful with My Heart

In an interview with entertainment site PEP.ph, Richard confirmed that the movie version of the love story of Maya and his character Ser Chief is not getting its big screen version anymore.

"Uhm, baka hindi na kami gagawa ng Be Careful The Movie. Kung next year baka, pero ibang theme na siguro. Ibang story na siguro," Richard told PEP. "Official na wala nang movie," he emphasized.

The said version is supposed to be Star Cinema's official entry to MMFF 2013 but the movie outfit withdrew the film from this year's festival (read related story here). Star Cinema explained that they decided to pull out the movie due to the "tight schedule" of the cast and crew.

"In a way we were really [saddened], kasi hindi namin kaya pagsabayin sa sobrang ano ng taping namin. Kahit tapusin muna yung teleserye, hindi natin masabi," Richard said talking about the cancellation of the film.

"Basta hindi talaga puwedeng pagsabayin, mahirap on the part of the ano, siguro, the writers," he added.

Although there will be no movie version, fans of Be Careful with My Heart should not worry because they can still follow Maya and Ricky's love story on TV until next year.

"Naka-hanggang next year pa ang show, kasi it depends, e. Depende kung what the audience wants or what the viewers wants. E, medyo ayaw din naman matapos muna ng management," said Richard.

When asked who he wanted to be his leading lady if ever he will star in his first movie, Richard revealed that he's looking on Dawn Zulueta and Anne Curtis, aside from his Maya loves, Jodi Sta. Maria.
