Award-winning actress Aiko Melendez will soon be part of the hot and compelling story of ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime drama series “Apoy Sa Dagat.” She will portray the character of Odessa, the mother of the twins Rebecca and Serena (Angelica Panganiban), initially played by Nikki Gil in the series’ well-acclaimed back story.

ABS-CBN has released the official poster of upcoming teleserye Apoy Sa Dagat starring Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban and Angelica Panganiban (the latter being billed twice by playing a dual role).

The Apoy Sa Dagat poster truly lived up to the show's title, fiery and hot with both Piolo and Diether oozing with sex appeal as well as Angelica, who is wearing a wet and see-through dress.

Zaijian is a Computer Game Addict on Wansapanataym (January 26)

Kapamilya child wonder Zaijian Jaranilla will teach fellow kids the importance of valuing the love of their parents this Saturday (January 26) in the continuation of his “Wansapanataym” special.

In an episode titled ‘Si Paolo at Apollo,’ Zaijian will portray the role of Paolo, a young boy who is addicted to computer games. Despite all the efforts of his mother, Paolo still chooses to play video games and ignore everything his mom gives him. In the end, will Paolo finally learn to treasure his parent’s love once the characters in the games he plays magically turn into life? 

Together with Zaijian in the ‘Si Paolo at Apollo’ episode are Angel Aquino, Joem Bascon, Kakai Bautista, and Alex Castro. It was written by Noreen Capili and directed by Tots Sanchez Mariscal IV.

Gerald Anderson, a Killer in OTJ (On The Job) Movie with Piolo Pascual, Sports a Bad Boy Look

Gerald Anderson shed off his 'good boy' image for his upcoming action film OTJ (On The Job) with hunk actor Piolo Pascual. Gerald shaved the sides of his head and a portion of his right eyebrow for his role in the said movie.

In OTJ (On The Job), Gerald Anderson will be playing Daniel, an inmate who will turn into a hitman/professional killer. Meanwhile, Piolo Pascual plays the character of an NBI agent who will hunt Daniel. A son of an NBI chief and with a wife the daughter of a congressman, Piolo's character is torn between his duty, his conscience and his family.

In an interview with ABS-CBN news, both Gerald and Piolo shared their excitement for the movie which started shooting just recently.

"Sobra, sobra. That's what excites me yung iba ang role, iba ang character, iba ang script at kung paano kukunan. Iba yung set, may feeling ako na lahat magle-level up ," said Gerald who shared that his character  in OTJ is far from the usual roles he played in drama series.

"I'm happy because I never wanted to give it up. For the last three years I'd been trying to lobby for it and really fight for the project. Now it all fell into place with Gerald on board," Piolo said admitting that he is really excited to do the film with Gerald.

OTJ (On The Job), which is under Star Cinema will be directed by Erik Matti (Tiktik: The Aswang Chronices) and will also star Joey Marquez, Joel Torre, Angel Aquino, Rayver Cruz and Leo Martinez.

Sam Milby will open his home for everyone this Saturday (October 27) on “Interior Motives” hosted by Angel Aquino.

Regal Films 'Ride To Love' Movie Teaser Released!

The teaser video for one of the much-awaited romantic movie of the year, Ride To Love has been released. The movie, which is produced by Regal Films brought together various artist from rival networks ABS-CBN, GMA-7 and TV-5 in a relatively new team up we had never seen before.

Ride To Love features an all-star cast and a multi-generational pairing composed of Iza Calzado and Tom Rodriguez, Angel Aquino and Benjamin Alves, Fabio Ide and Rufa Mae Quinto, Megan Young and JC Tiuseco, Eula Caballero and Ivan Dorschner and Ms. Boots Anson-Roa and Mr. Eddie Garcia.

The teaser provides us with each character and their respective ride to love. The Lifestyle Network brings the most decorative show on the channel, “Interior Motives”, hosted by Angel Aquino which delves into anything and everything about the world of interior design.

“One of the strongest aspects of the show is the feature of the ‘know’, ‘how’ and ‘buy’ aspects of interior design. Angelica Panganiban Plays a Dual Role in 'Apoy Sa Dagat'

Award-winning actress Angelica Panganiban is set portray two characters in ABS-CBN upcoming teleserye Apoy sa Dagat. The said teleserye which is deemed as the Kapamilya network's next grand project is slated  for release later this year.

In an interview with ABS-CBN news after the story conference for Apoy Sa Dagat, Angelica confirmed that she will be playing a dual role in the series.

"Sobrang challenging dahil dalawang character 'yung gagampanan ko. Doon pa lang kaabang-abang na siya," Angelica Panganiban said.

According to leading man Piolo Pascual, Angelica's characters in Apoy Sa Dagat will play a vital part in resolving the conflicts of the show's plot. 

"The story's so rich, ang daming sanga, ang daming mangyayari sa story. But, of course, ang essential part of the story will be Angelica, who's playing a dual role. Siya 'yung magtatagpi-tagpi lahat nung connections ng bawat character, and all of us are correlated and would have to co-exist with her para ma-solve niya 'yung conflicts sa buhay niya," shared Piolo. 

Angelica Panganiban said she feels like in heaven being a part of this ABS-CBN big project. "Parang hindi ako makapaniwala na parang part ako ng isang sobrang laking project. Tapos grabe 'yung mga makakatrabaho ko, makakasama ko, hindi lang mga artista kundi 'yung mga bumubuo ng buong proyekto," she said.

Apoy Sa Dagat will shoot most of its scenes at sea and we can expect that a lot of skin will be bared in the series.  "Basically kasi nasa dagat kami, so doon pa lang given na siya," said Angelica. 

Angelica Panganiban will be joined by Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Angel Aquino, Liza Lorena and Sylvia Sanchez in Apoy Sa Dagat. This will mark Angelica's teleserye comeback after Rubi in 2010 where she also got to work with Diether.

Jane Oineza's MMK 'Manika' Episode Reaches 40% TV Rating!

The much talked about ‘Manika’ episode starred by Kapamilya teen star Jane Oineza and highly acclaimed actress Angel Aquino of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” broke barriers last Saturday (June 30) as it ranked no. 1 in the top overall TV weekend programs with its 40% national TV rating.

Based on the data of Kantar Media, the SPG-rated “MMK” episode garnered the highest national TV rating among all other shows last Saturday and Sunday (July 1). Its rival show in GMA, “Kapuso Movie Festival” only got 15.2%.

Aside from its ratings success, Jane and Angel’s “MMK” masterpiece reigned even on the popular microblogging site Twitter, where Jane’s name became a worldwide trending topic for two nights. Twitter users mainly talked about Jane’s sterling portrayal as Nene, the teenager who was allowed by her own mother (played by Angel) to be repeatedly raped by her live-in partner.

The ex-”Goin’ Bulilit” child had nothing but utmost gratitude to all who have supported and commended her first starring role on TV. She said, “Thank you so much for all the positive feedback. I also want to thank ABS-CBN, Direk Nuel Naval, and to ‘MMK’ for giving me the chance to show my talent.”

But more than ‘liking’ the episode, Jane stressed that hopefully through their episode, TV viewers got to learn important lessons. “We hope that Nene’s story served as an eye-opener for all of us–that drugs will not result to anything good and that despite all the hardships, we should not lose hope and our faith in God,” she said.

Jane Oineza Happy that Her Controversial MMK Episode Finally Made it to TV

Ex-“Goin’ Bulilit” child star Jane Oineza is finally relieved now that her much talked about episode in ABS-CBN’s drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” was approved for airing this Saturday (June 30). The ‘Cursed Beauty’ episode of “MMK” that deals with teen rape, is Jane’s first-ever starring role on TV.

“I literally jumped for joy upon knowing that it’s finally airing!” said Jane. “Prior the confirmation, I was praying hard about it. That’s why I was so glad when I heard the news that the viewers can finally see it.”

Jane shared that just like the rest of the viewers who saw the teaser, she was anxious but intrigued with the story of Nene when she was offered with the role. She said, “At first, I was nervous to do it. But after reading the script, I was certain that I wanted to play the part. I knew I was ready for a challenging role like Nene.”

When asked about what can the curious viewers expect this Saturday, Jane simply gave hint out an open-ended thought. “Through Nene’s lifestory, I realized that we should not let our suffering rule our life. It should teach us not to give up,” she said.

Jane’s “MMK” episode was recently given the go-signal by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) after its original June 2 airing was postponed due to its sensitive content that earned it an X-rating. ‘Cursed Beauty’ now has a rating of “SPG” or “strong parental guidance” after being thoroughly reviewed by the agency.
